He hoped it might turn up, but six freezing days later Brandon despaired of finding it and did something no one has ever done: <strong>he took out his iPhone 7 and set a world record.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was December 23rd at 5:43pm when he entered the details of his Canada Goose Langford Parka in his Lemonade app: it had cost $979, and was bought at Saks Fifth Avenue. Sending a tweet would have required more taps&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-195 size-full\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/instant-claim.png\" alt=\"Lemonade insurance pays an insurance claim in 3 seconds\" width=\"1000\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/instant-claim.png 1000w, https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/instant-claim-300x77.png 300w, https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/instant-claim-768x197.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He then spoke into the camera and described what happened (that took 61 seconds) and at 5:49 and 7 seconds he hit \u2018Submit.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The seconds matter.<\/p>\n<p>The process up to that point had taken only a few minutes and zero paperwork. That\u2019s unheard of for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/claims\">insurance claim<\/a>. Jim, Lemonade\u2019s claims bot, reviewed Brandon\u2019s claim, cross-referenced it against his policy, ran 18 anti-fraud algorithms on it, approved it, sent wiring instructions to the bank for the transfer of $729 (Brandon has a $250 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/insuropedia\/dictionary\/insurance-deductible\/\">deductible<\/a>), and informed Brandon of the good news.<\/p>\n<p><em>[Who&#8217;s A.I. The service is amazing and I am so happy that I signed up!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Guinness Book of World Records told us that no international standards exist for measuring the \u2018payment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/claims\">insurance claims<\/a>,\u2019 and so they\u2019re unable to record this Record. Yet from all we can gather, <strong>in the 3,000 year history of insurance nothing like this has ever happened in 3 seconds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So we\u2019re claiming the title.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019d have thought such record-setting service comes at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/insuropedia\/dictionary\/insurance-premium\/\">premium<\/a>. It doesn\u2019t. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonade.com\/renters\/explained\/this-is-how-much-renters-insurance-actually-costs\/\">Lemonade renters insurance costs<\/a> Brandon $5 per month.
