FAVORITE THING ABOUT LEMONADE
It felt like the millennial way to do insurance!
What comes to mind when you hear ‘insurance’?
Old people. Adulting. A lot of grey. You know when you have to go to Sephora and buy foundation, and you’re not excited about it? It’s like that.
How’d you hear about Lemonade?
I found Lemonade through a targeted Facebook ad. I was like, ‘How am I seeing an insurance ad on Facebook?’ So it felt revolutionary that way. I was like hell yeah, this is how I want to do renters insurance. I don’t want to talk to people. It ended up being the easiest way to adult. It wasn’t a disgusting, boring, grey app.
Were you looking for renters insurance at the time?
No. My dad told me a thousand times I’m supposed to have it, but I wasn’t necessarily going to seek it out.
I’m just passive. I should’ve, I really should’ve. I got mugged at one point – that should’ve been enough to get it. And I have enough bills. But Lemonade happened to just drop onto my feet, and it felt like the millennial way to get insurance. And it was a great price. It was right on key for me.
How was your experience getting a policy?
It felt really easy. I’ve told a lot of people about Lemonade actually. I was talking to my best friend this morning, and she was like, ‘My boyfriend got renters insurance coverage, I was hoping it would cover my stuff.’ I was like, ‘First of all it doesn’t, second of all let me tell you about mine!’
Do you think people know about it when you talk about it?
Some do. I’m not sure who else’s feeds it’s dropping on, but it was well-targeted for me. I think I signed up on my commute for work. I was on the bus and by work, I was covered.
