Your Right to a Claim Appeal as a Lemonade Claimant

Pursuant to New Jersey Law, in the event that you are not satisfied with the outcome of your claim, you may request an internal appeal of the claim decision.

Claim appeals can be requested by emailing your Claim Advocate or by sending an email to [email protected]. In the email, include your name, claim number, a short description of the reason for your appeal request, and your desired outcome.

Internal appeal reviews are conducted by a panel of three Lemonade employees who possess expertise in claims procedures but are not actively handling claims. If any additional documentation is needed, they will contact you directly.

Should you choose to request an appeal of your claim, you will be notified of the panel’s determination no later than ten business days from the date of your request. If you remain dissatisfied with the determination you may have your claim reviewed by the Office of Insurance Claims Ombudsman by contacting them at:

Please note: your request for an appeal does not constitute a waiver of any term, conditions, or provisions of the policy including the timeframe for filing suit.
